Once an official residential compound during the Japanese colonial period, this site is also one of Taiwan’s best-preserved groups of Japanese wooden buildings. Its elegant black roof tiles and wooden lattice windows evoke a strong Showa atmosphere, making every corner a wonderful photo spot.
These former dormitories have now been transformed into Machiya Posong, combining distinctive lodging and dining spaces. A visit here offers not only a sense of tranquil history, but also a chance to experience the renewed aesthetics of Japanese-style living amid the scent of tatami.
