Ai Jiao Yi Tea House
Tea-infused foods in quiet corner of Luye HighlandThis restaurant is in a quiet corner of the Luye Highland, about five minute's drive from where the Hot Air Balloon Festival takes place. Our guesthouse was also nearby, and as far as I know this was the only place to eat up there, besides a few cafes by the balloon festival. The only option when we visited was the set meal, which included red tea braised pork, deep fried tofu with green tea dipping sauce, tea oil chicken soup, mountain greens fried in tea oil, and red tea steamed rice. I'm a tea lover so this was very interesting for me. However, I don't eat meat, so I just asked for less meat and more of the other things, and it was more than enough for me and my two kids. Some large bus groups sometimes stop here for dinner during the balloon festival season, so it's smart to drop in during the day or reserve a spot for dinner.
