2018 Taiwan Open of Surfing Double World Championships

2018 Taiwan Open of Surfing will kick off from November 26 to December 9 in Jinzun Taitung. Jinzun was the World Surfing League (WSL) designated competition venue for Longboard Championships in 2017. This year, the World Junior Championships will also take place here as part of 2018 Taiwan Open of Surfing this year! It not only marks the very first double championships in the history of WSL games but also honors Taitung’s endeavor in hosting Taiwan Open of Surfing eight years in a row since 2011.
The unprecedented double championships will bring top-notch surfers from all over the world to Taitung, including celebrity surfers and winners of the World Junior Champs, Joel Parkinson, Gabriel Medina, Jordy Smith, Sally Fitzgibbons and Laura Enever. The event this year also includes national men’s and women’s longboard, men’s shortboard as well as group competitions.
Jinzun boasts a unique coastal terrain and low-attitude waves that are ideal for surfing. Considered a prime surfing spot, the annual international surfing competition held here attracts numerous surfers who are in for the prize.
The highly anticipated double championships are definitely going to be the surfing event of a lifetime featuring surfers with incredible surfing techniques. The application form will be available for download on Facebook in November.
