The globally-reputed travel guide Lonely Planet announced its top ten Asian destinations for 2016, and Taitung, with its beautiful coast, hot air balloons, and indigenous culture, made the list while being hailed as Taiwan’s “secret destination.” In an effort to attract more tourists from Singapore, Director Chiang of the Taitung County Government Tourism Department has led government workers and those in the industry (including the Hotel Royal Chihpen, Naruwan Hotel, The Suites Taitung, Century Hotel, Luminous Hot Springs Resort and Spa, liontravel.com, and Green Tour Taiwan) in the organization of four discount packages, which are a super-value Taiwan Taitung Pass (Taitung Fun Card) Green Island Day Pass, Taitung Bike Tour, an accommodations bonus event, and a 3-day trip on Green Island.
This year, the Taitung County Government launched the Taiwan Taitung Pass (Taitung Fun Card). Upon purchasing a card online, trips posted on the official website may be taken. There will be a 72-hour unlimited pass for the Taitung Tourist Bus along with boat trips to Green Island. The original price was 86 Singapore dollars, but with a discount of 47%, it is now only about SGD 47. The Taitung Chishang Takeshi Kaneshiro trip package was originally SGD 79, but with a 35% discount, it will be available for SGD 51. Tourists from Singapore need only enter the Taiwan Taitung Pass website, buy the pass, and choose to redeem their pass at the Taoyuan Airport to receive a free 4G prepaid phone card from Chunghwa Telecom. In this way, visitors may enjoy an all-in-one pass to enjoy everything Taitung has to offer at discounted prices. Those who purchase the pass may also use it as a stored-value card for the MRTs in Taipei and Kaohsiung, YouBike, and four major supermarket chains. In terms of convenience, you just can’t beat it!
