From August to September every year, you can hike along the winding and narrow mountain road to an altitude of 1,300 meters to see a large field of yellow flowers. As these golden needle flowers (orange daylilies; "Jinzhen" in Mandarin) are planted here, this place is called Jean-Zen Mountain.
Shuangru Peak is the highest point of Jean-Zen Mountain, offering the best angle for blossom viewing. It is also where you can find the densest concentration of golden needle flowers. At the pavilion on the side, viewing the sea of flowers will make you feel as if you are in a dream.
There are shops selling golden needle flower dishes along the way. You can sit on the observation deck and enjoy them with the view. You can also take dried golden needle flowers home to cook them yourself!
The climate here is versatile, making it highly suitable for growing plants. There are blossoms in all seasons: cherry blossoms bloom from January to March, wild lilies from April to May, hydrangea from June to July, golden needle flowers (orange daylilies) from August to October; and maple turns red from November to December. You can also find dragon fruit, roselle, and lychee here, satisfying your eyes and taste buds.
