Tuesday: Open 24 hours a day
Also called Yazilan Mountain or Taimali Mountain,Jean-Zen mountain gets its name for the flourishing day lily. Both beautiful and edible, the day lily flower blooms and withers in one day, hence nicknamed "oneday beauty." During harvest in summer, tourists come to the mountain blanketed with golden flowers for "Day Lily Festival." Besides day lilies, the apricot, peach and cherry tree blossoms also take turns to embellish the scenery. Visitors can ascend along the Jialun feeder road and admire the scenic panorama view at the pavilions. It is a 30-minute drive uphill from the entrance across the CPC gas station on Taimali Street, and drivers should be cautious of the afternoon fog.

It rainedHad looked forward to looking at the slopes covered with the flowers with blue sky. However, the rain did not make it as colourful as it should be. It was cold and windy up in the mountains when we went. Managed some shots. Didn’t get to do too many activities there due to the rain. Will probably come back again another time to see the magnificent flowers.
One lane for both way and long driveWe drove for an hour and we still could not reach the first pavilion named on the tourist map. Fortunately there are lookout points throughout the road. As we had a tight schedule that day, we had to go without really found out what's great about this area. We did saw some farms and accommodation which were supposed to be on business but not many seemed to have opened. The road as mentioned in the title is narrow, basically one lane but for two way traffic. We went up there at around 0800 and left at 0915, so there was little traffic, but it's already quite exhausted to drive up and down with occasional give-ways. I can't imagine how the traffic will be if it's later in the day or during high seasons when the flowers are blooming.
