Jialulan, located in Donghe Township, Taitung County, is an Amis tribal village. Its name in the Amis language is "Kararuan," which means "the place for washing hair." According to legend, the local stream was rich in natural minerals, and washing one's hair with its water would leave it exceptionally soft and radiant. The recreation area was formerly a waste soil disposal site for the nearby Air Force base. Through extensive restoration using ecological engineering methods, it has been transformed into a stunning coastal destination that blends natural landscapes with artistic creations.
