Jhihben National Forest Recreation Area
This recreation area covers area with altitudes between 110m and 650m, and is abundant in ecological resources. The forest in the recreation area is mostly primeval forest that consists of mahogany and camphor trees, where formosan rock monkeys can be seen. Autumn maple trees and macaranga can be seen throughout the botanic garden, while some medical herbs such as sicklepods and jack beans are also found. However, you need to walk up the steep Houhanpo to appreciate the most magnificent view of the renowned white barkfig. The species of butterflies and birds by Jhihben River are also very amazingly abundant. Together with the grand waterfall, the rich ecosystem creates a wonderful presentation of the nature.

RefreshingIt is a kind of forest park. You need to pay NT$50 for entrance. But it is worth. You can inspire fresh air and relax yourself.
很多蝴蝶和鳥～是連假去的，人很多，停車沒有收費，大家都路邊停車，容易塞車～ 不是森林遊樂設施，適合中小學生，和小時候的森林公園相似。 森林浴步道很棒，沒有太多人工設施。很多蝴蝶，鳥類，甚至山豬～ 如果遊客可以安靜一點，可以更接近大自然～ There have two trails one is a lot stairs. Another one is forest trail is more natural and full butterflies & birds. Its nice place to take a walk.
closedZhiben (or chihpen) national recreation area Is closed, some people told me it's opening in september, if you (like me) come here and see the gare closed, you can have a walk to the nearby waterfall, or soak in the several hotspring downhill.
A fitness/leisure walk in the parkBeautiful scenery at the entrance of the park. In the park, there are 3 routes to choose from. An easy walk around the flat ground of the park. There's a massage pool at the end. The other two routes goes by the steps labelled 'brave man route' where you need to climb about 500 steps to go up the hill and go through the forest trail to come down. Good for some fitness walking. Take note that this is NOT a hotspring park though it is situated in Chihben.
