Introduction
Jhihben National Forest Recreation Area is a tropical monsoon rainforest located midstream of the Jhihben River at elevations between 110-650 meters and covers over 110.8 hectares. The natural ecological classroom is packed with rich and abundant species of forestry, birds, and insects. This is the best place for birdwatching near Taitung City with its diverse bird species.

There are various recreational facilities inside the park. In addition to several trails, there are special facilities such as the Monsoon Forest Area and the Foot Massage Creek Path. It is suitable for people of all ages to enjoy.

Trails
●The Scenic Trail: The trail is 426 meters long.This trail takes you through the Foot Massage Creek Path, the Monsoon Forest Area, and other major facilities in the park; it is an easy trail suitable for both children and the elderly.

●Haohanpuo Trail: “Haohanpuo” means “a brave man’s slope” in Mandarin as this trail is named for its steep slope. The trail is 827 meters long. It is the perfect choice if you are looking for a physical challenge. The Grandfather Banyan near the end of the trail overlooks the Pacific Ocean becomes the best reward for completing the strenuous climb to the top.

●Monsoon Forest Area: The special wind chimes and wind-listening pipes in this area are designed for you to enjoy nature’s symphony while the breeze blows through the rumbling maple leaves.

●Foot Massage Creek Path: The cool mountain spring water flowing through the round pebble stones creates a natural footbath that is loved by people of all ages. Soaking your feet in the cool refreshing creek is also beneficial for your health.

Located in the suburbs of Taitung City, Zhiben National Forest Recreation Area is the best place for mountain climbing, hiking, bird watching, butterfly watching and picnicking. It is truly a great place for the entire family to enjoy on the weekends!
