The Liji Badlands cover a wide area from the north of Taitung Bridge to the east side of the Beinan River. As the most exposed section is located in Liji Village, it was named the Liji Badlands. They are the first designated local geological park in Taitung County and are known as Taitung's "national geological treasure." The East Rift Valley National Scenic Area Administration has installed facilities such as pavilions and boardwalks to promote geo-tourism and introduce Taiwan's beauty to more visitors.
