Anchor

Popularity1072

Spanning the Luye River since 1959, this cable-stayed bridge was the main connecting road of the old Provincial Highway No. 9. It is said that there used to be so many deer in the surrounding area, you could clearly hear them just by standing on the bridge. So the Japanese named the area Luliao, which means “the habitat of deer”. This is also how the bridge got its name. The initial bridge was replaced by a new one in 1983, and has since been put under conservation for its historical significance.
