Guanshan Old Railway Station, also known as Lilong Yi (Eki), derives its name from the Japanese term "Eki," meaning "station," and "Lilong," an Amis word referring to the abundance of bloodworms in the area. Established in 1919 by Taito Seito, the old railway station was relocated to a new site approximately 100 meters away in 1980. After years of disuse, it was restored through funding from the Taitung County Government, becoming the sole preserved railway station building from the Japanese colonial era along the Eastern Trunk Line. Lilong Yi is conveniently located near downtown Guanshan, allowing visitors to explore various attractions by bicycle. From Lilong Yi, visitors can tour the old Guanshan stationmaster’s dormitory, Taitung Tianhou Temple, and Guanshan Police History Museum, as well as other leftover Japanese-style architecture in the town. These visits offer a glimpse into Guanshan's historical development, transporting visitors back a century in time. Additionally, visitors can experience the joys of farming and savor delicious Guanshan rice at the Rice County School restaurant. They can then embark on a journey along Guanshan Township Loop Bike Lane, passing through Guanshan Water Park with its tranquil ponds and admiring the changing scenery of the rice fields throughout the seasons, all while immersing themselves in the serene and unhurried lifestyle of Guanshan.
