Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley is located in the upper reaches of the Luming River and is the common water source of ​​Taoyuan Village and Luye Township. It was named after the butterflies flying all over the sky. Once a summer paradise for the local tribespeople to enjoy the water, environmental destruction meant it was no longer beautiful. Through the restoration efforts of locals and Taitung County Government, Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley has once again become a waterfront ecological paradise of the Luming River.

The scenery here changes with the seasons, and summer is said to be the best season to visit. Visitors can take a dip in the crystal-clear stream, listen to the melodious chirping of cicadas and birds, take photos with swarms of butterflies, and observe the rich wildlife and nature.
