Introduction

Anchor
Luye Shrine is located in Longtian Village, Luye Township. It was funded by the Taito Sugar Company and jointly constructed by Japanese immigrants from Luye Village who volunteered their efforts. It was relocated to its current site in 1931. The original shrine building was dismantled after the war, leaving only its foundation, which was scheduled for removal. In 2013, local residents began actively advocating for its preservation as a part of local history.

Eventually, a dedicated shrine restoration craftsman was brought over from Japan, collaborating with Taiwanese carpenters to reconstruct the shrine on its original site and completing the project in 2015. Standing on a plain with scenic farms and hills in the backdrop, Luye Shrine offers a green and serene historical landscape. Since its reopening, it has become a popular spot for snapping social media photos.
