The Taitung Sugar Factory has a history of more than 100 years since its founding. In 2004, Taitung County Government listed it as a historical building and transformed it into the Taitung Sugar Factory Cultural and Creative Park.

In the park, the old railway and train-related equipment were preserved.While the original buildings were renovated with a museum, an open-air stage, and public art installations added. Local artists have been invited for residenciesy, and restaurants invited to set up their businesses in the park. While preserving traditional craftsmanship, Taitung Sugar Factory also serves as a multi-functional art and performance space that showcases local culture.
