Zhongxing Post

Popularity352

Zhongxing Post was built around 1957. At that time, the post was responsible for guarding Luye River Bridge between Luye Station and Shanli Station. It has been idle since 1982 when the railway and bridge were relocated. As a guard post guarding the railway, it has an excellent view of the railway. Even before the post was renovated, it was already a secret spot known by railway fans.

The renovated Zhongxing Post, besides just preserving the original architecture, has been added with a landscape seating area for railway fans to watch the trains going by. There is also a shop on the first floor and an open-air bar on the second floor. Combined with the history of the post and the cultural features of local tribes, it has not only been transformed into a rest stop for the around-town bike path, but also been given new life.

If you want to photograph the passing train, you must pay attention to the timetable. To get good shots of the nose of the train, you must check the schedule for trains going from Taitung Station to Luye or Guanshan (northbound trains). Depending on the speed of trains, it takes about 8 to 15 minutes to arrive at the Post, after departing from Taitung Station. You are recommended to check the departure time from Taitung Station and be in position about 5 minutes after the train departs, so as not to miss any good shots.
