Unique room; lots of green spaces

    Traveler rating:5 2017-06

We stayed in unique half-barrel-shaped-type rooms. There were 5 units only. Inside it is very spacious, clean and neat, including the bathroom. The floor is slightly raised and is entirely wood. The mattresses are laid out on the floor Japanese-style and is comfortable. There is a standing shower and the hot/cold water pressure is good and strong. Wifi in the room is strong and free. Parking is adequate and is directly behind the unit. It has a spacey verandah with garden chairs and table overlooking a large green field and beautifully planted trees. Beyond the green field are farms with fruit trees. It is quiet, peaceful and safe which provided us a very good sleep. Bicycles are provided foc. The reception was very warm and friendly, and the check-in and out processes were fast and efficient.

So much serenity. But close to town...

    Traveler rating:5 2017-02

We stayed overnight on a road trip adventure down the east coast of Taiwan - it's a little way out of the main part of the city as I was paranoid about driving into the centre of larger Taiwan cities. Given the price, it was good value. The property is spacious and peaceful - really lovely gardens and space. It is kind of like a motel in Australia or the USA as you can bring your car right up to the rooms. The rooms have up-market decor, but they are army cabins with all the mod-cons, apart from the army boy uniforms. Reception organised a taxi into town for dinner - only 10-15 minutes. Only minor suggestion for improvement would be the breakfast - really horrible pork buns - I still wretch when I think about it. BTW - A road trip from Hualian to Taitung and return is awesome - the highlight was the rift valley (non-coastal) route where we explored lots of little villages and farms - really amazing road trip.

Recommend for travelling with young kids

    Traveler rating:4 2016-12

Ideal accommodation for travelling with young kids as it is surrounded by greeneries. The individual rooms with ranch house design are facing the fields and surrounded by plants and trees. Despite limited facilities available; cycling around with the kids is an activity not to be miss. Despite limited choice for breakfast (choose 1 from the 5 sets available in the menu) but all choices are relatively healthy (2 sets are suitable for vegetarian). With the price paid, can't demand for more.

    A lovely place

    Traveler rating:5 2016-12

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Living quarter is spacious and clean. There are lots of trees and lawn space. Breakfast is healthy and plentiful. Bikes are available for all guests, and bike paths are just nearby. An excellent choice for someone who is seeking quiet and green environment.

    Excellent - fantasic all round

    Traveler rating:5 2013-07

Stayed here whilst racing the Challenge Taiwan triathlon. It was a fantastic experience. The rooms are extremely clean and well maintained and look exactly like they appear on the website. The grounds are also well maintained and very picturesque. It was perfect for out daughter with lots of space to run round, play games and emjoy being outside. The family that run the B&B are lovely. They were very welcoming and went out of their way to help in any way they could - making special breakfasts, bringing toys for our daughter and checking in to see if we needed anything. Other members of our group stayed in different hotels and B&Bs in Taitung. The Greenhouse was by far the best in terms of service and overall value. I'd choose this over the 5 star hotel that was 4 times the price.
